Level
A specific setting of a factor. Two-level designs use a low and a high setting.
Levels are the values a factor takes in the experiment. Coding them as −1 (low), 0 (midpoint) and +1 (high) puts every factor on the same scale, which makes effects comparable and the maths better behaved.
